PTA Power Up Membership Challenge

pta-power-up-entryJason Lee PTA has entered the WA State PTA Power Up Membership Challenge.

To be in the running for winning money for the Jason Lee PTA we need more people join our PTA before the end of January.

Consider gifting your student’s teacher a PTA membership if they don’t already have one.

PTA discount cards make a great stocking stuffer.

If you’ve been dragging your feet on becoming a member now is the time to join the Jason Lee PTA. If the cost of membership is holding you back, we have a scholarship for that!

Joining PTA Means Joining PTA does not mean
  • You must attend meetings
  • You must volunteer
  • you must be a parent of a student at the school
  • You have to wear a crimson cougar shirt at school events

Don’t get me wrong. If you want to wear a cougar shirt, attend every meeting, and volunteer to help out at school that’s awesome. But that’s not a requirement of being a part of the PTA.

The more members we have the more votes we have at PTA Convention as well voting on the things that matter to us in Washington State. A large membership base increases our ability to advocate for the needs of children. We vote on officers for Washington State PTA, PTA rules and guidelines for Washington State, and we choose which things we want the WSPTA to advocate for with the Washington State Legislature as well through our votes.

What’s holding you back?

Join the Jason Lee PTA today.

Box Tops for Education

IMAG9886_1As one of their fund raisers, Jason Lee collects Box Tops for Education.  Those little Box Tops add up.  Over the years Jason Lee has collected over $18,000 in Box Tops.  Jason Lee families do a great job of turning in Box Tops.  I found one yesterday on a Jet Dry bottle from Costco.  And this little guy does not expire until 2020!

Box Tops have expiration dates.  No use in telling your great aunt that though or she might stop collecting them for you all together.  That font size is way too small for her to read anyway.  Once you clip and collect all those tiny coupons, take a peek at the expiration date at the bottom.  Sort through your box tops before you send them into school.  If the Box Tops are expired, pitch them!  Checking the expiration date is a great job for your Jason Lee student’s young eyes.     Make sure they check the expiration date before securing the Box Tops to the collection sheet or putting them in an envelope.  We find taping the Box Tops to the sheet ensures they will not fall off in transit.

Box Tops do not need to be trimmed perfectly, but they do need to keep the integrity of the information on the Box Tops. If Box Tops 4 Education is unable to read the acronym (see the FIN in the top left of the dark folder) or expiration date (located in the bottom center), they will not accept the Tops.  They do not accept expired Tops either.

For every 25 Box Tops a Jason Lee student turns in that are not expired and are clearly labeled with their full name, teacher, and grade they will receive a prize.

Thank you for collecting Box Tops for Jason Lee Elementary and contributing to a successful fund raiser.
